Work to repair a collapsed sewer in Shore Hill, (Ventnor Cascade) is now complete says a spokesperson for Southern Water.
Temporary traffic lights have been in place on the Cascade since a rain water surge at the beginning of August shifted a 50kg manhole cover 20 feet down road and caused damage to the road surface.
The spokesperson for Southern Water told News OnTheWight that work will reinstate the highway will commence on 12th September.
They add,
“Due to the recent extreme weather, the contractors who repair and reinstate the highways are experiencing very high demand.
“Both parties will do everything they can to get the road reopened as soon as possible and are sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.”
