Don’t forget this this coming Sunday sees the return of the Ventnor Film Society – Archive Film Event.
There’ll be plenty of celluloid treasures on show, with footage from ’02 At Havenstreet’, a film narrated by John Huntley and produced and directed by Bob Ennis portraying the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in it’s early days of development in 1986 and 1987.
There’ll be footage of carnivals in the 1950s, Cowes Week in 1929, a steam train journey from Ryde to Ventnor in 1960 and ‘Isle of Wight Calves’.
The film made by the production unit of the Isle of Wight Amateur Cine Society and filmed at Newport House Dairy Farm, this film was first shown at the Guildhall, Newport 1948.
