Conde Nast Traveller magazine has rated Ventnor Beach among the best in the UK.
Included in the list of beautiful beaches in Cornwall, Norfolk, Suffolk and Devon, the magazine highlights Ventnor bay among the best for family fun.
They say:
Navigate the winding roads down through the cliffs and the cascading gardens, and onto the golden beachfront of the Victorian town of Ventnor, which has something of a Riviera feel.
The tide is strong here, but the beach itself is clean, mainly sandy, easily accessible, and has rockpools to poke around in at either end.
One of the best coastal views
The view from the eastern cliffs along the coast is one of the best on the Island, with the lush green clifftops heading to Steephill Bay, and beyond, jutting out into the clear blue sea.
If you’ve been lucky enough to look back down to the beach from the Royal Hotel’s cliff top garden, you’ll understand the reference to the ‘Riviera feel’ cited by the magazine author.
We have Womble Wendy and Don to thank for keeping the beach clean.
