Ventnor Skate Park Closure: Positive Update

Radio One DJ and Bestival Head Honcho Rob Da BankThere have been some very positive steps forward for the Save Ventnor Skate Park Campaign over the past few days.

Over the weekend, we contacted Radio One DJ, Bestival Head Honcho and Isle of Wight Ambassador, Rob Da Bank and we’re pleased to report that Rob is more than happy to be involved in the campaign.

John Cattle has been working hard too gathering support. One of Ventnor’s best exports, The Bees, have also agreed to take part in a fundraising gig to raise money and awareness of the campaign, as have other Island musicians, the brilliant Jackson Analogue. This is an extremely generous offer by both bands and we’ll let you know once dates are confirmed (natch).

A positive meeting was held last night with John Cattle, Chair of the StreetStyle group, Ventnor Town Councillor, Val Taylor and Chair of Ventnor Community Projects, Nicky Hargreaves.

Val and Nicky have been able to offer invaluable advice on how to move forward, calling on their years of experience with community projects.

Further meetings are planned for later in the week and we’ll keep you up to date with progress.
