After last nights rally, the hired security received abuse by certain people in the crowd for stopping food from the outside from entering the site.
We would like to say to everyone the security are not the enemy!
They have bills to pay and families to feed and they are just doing their job! They are employed by Vestas and it is Paddy Wier and the Vestas management that made the decision to not allow anything into this site, the security are doing what they were employed to do.
They are very nice people and help and support us in any way they can, we have said from the very beginning this is a peaceful protest and we want it to stay that way!
As for the matter of food, we appreciate everyone’s efforts to get food into us and the pressure that has been put on the management to supply us with food which they continue to do.
Louise Christian had an article published in the Guardian today regarding our food supply, a human rights QC has sent a letter to Vestas and since the successful effort to get us food on Thursday afternoon Vestas have increased the supply, mainly sandwiches and fruit but we still receive a hot meal every evening and we have a nice stash of food left from you guys, so thank you.
It is great to see you all out there despite the awful weather.
We were told last week that we might as well come out while we were at the peak of our attention and that it wouldn’t get any bigger, well, the media attention is still going strong and you guys being here today just proves the support continues to grow and grow!
As we’ve said before we couldn’t do this without you and it’s you guys that keep us strong so thank you to you All!
