‘Visitor spend increase’ on the Isle of Wight tops the tables

A new tourism survey has revealed the amount visitors spend on the Isle of Wight per night has increased by 15 per cent in the last year.

The stats, collected for the Hotels.com ‘Hotel Price Index’ – an industry measurement – looked at the prices paid per night in hotels from January to June 2015 compared to the last year.

The survey found the Isle of Wight (and Coventry) topped the charts with the greatest gains of 15%.

Visitors to the Island paid on average £78 per night compared to £68 in the previous year.

Good news for hotels
This is great news for the Island’s tourism industry which has seen a fall in visitors over the last five years*.

Our late summer sun could be the saving grace for many tourism businesses after the very wet summer that was felt across the entire country.
