Thanks to Helen for details of this upcoming event. In her own words, Ed
You could start your weekend in a very civilised way with some great music on Friday 3rd August when the Volante Piano Trio will be performing at St. Catherine’s Church, Ventnor at 6pm.
Local pianist, and student at Trinity Music College, London, Sally Halsey, has arranged the concert as an opportunity for her budding trio to give a public recital and raise money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice at the same time.
Beethoven and Shostakovich amongst others
Sally was the winner of the inaugural West Wight Arts Bursary of £500 in 2010 which enabled her to take lessons from London pianist, Nigel Clayton, in her gap year before going to college. The other students, Jaya Hanley and Sarah James, come from Brighton and Grantham respectively and also study at Trinity College in Greenwich.
The programme will include a well loved Beethoven Trio and romantic Shostakovich together with other shorter pieces.
These vivacious young musicians would love to share their music-making with you so please come along and support the Hospice too. Drinks will be served.
Entry is by programme on the door. £5 adults, children free.
