Voodoo Raven, are a retro rock trio who have been rehearsing, producing and playing new original, songs on the Isle of Wight for the last five years.
A couple of months ago, the band released their brand new album, The Healer, recorded at Chale Abbey Studios at the end of last year, which is now on sale from local independent record dealers, as well as the band’s Website.
Hear the new music live
This coming Friday will be the first opportunity to hear Voodoo Raven play their brand new material, live, at The Black Sheep Bar in Ryde.
The Band are excited to get out of the rehearsal rooms and play with a new line up after Guitar player Frank Guiles returned home to the sunshine state of California, U.S.A.
Musical heritage
Bass Player Jeff Piccinini was in The London seminal punk rock band, Chelsea, who also named such luminaries as Billy Idol and Sting as fleetingly enjoying success with the band around 1978 when the punk rock scene around The Marquee Club exploded into mainstream music heritage.
Several decades later, and the band blisters with burning pace, and energy, that shows the spark of youthful rebellion, has rarely diminished.
The new album has been well received, returning people to the days when music fans grasped the latest copy of the N.M.E, and queued up to get into venues for the latest tours by up-and-coming acts whose words and lyrics seemed to be the soundtrack to their lives.
Where and when
Voodoo Raven will be performing on Friday 16th August at Black Sheep Bar, Union Street, Ryde from 8pm.
