From 1pm today, Islanders are being asked to cast their vote in the BBC People’s Choice Awards for a garden that will eventually be relocated to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The garden
Jane Wilson and Deborah Skillicorn work for a small national charity called Greenfingers which is dedicated to creating gardens in children’s hospices around the UK.
Their Chairman, Matthew Wilson, designed the show garden for The Royal Bank of Canada Garden.
They’re thrilled that after the show has finished the garden will relocate to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Island, where it will be enjoyed by those who spend time at the hospice, but particularly by the children who are cared for at the hospice.
Help the garden win the public vote
As part of the Chelsea Flower Show the RHS and the BBC organise the People’s Choice Award, where the public vote for their favourite garden of the show.
Jane and Deborah are hoping to galvanise as many people as possible to vote for Matthew’s garden.
Its legacy at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice is a great reason to vote for it (many gardens are just dismantled with no future life elsewhere).
How to vote
Voting starts today (Thursday) from 1pm and runs until midnight online.
Simply head to the BBC Website – where once signed in to BBCiD you can cast your vote.
Online votes are limited to three per registered user. Online votes on different devices will count towards this limit.
