Thirteen year old Ventnor lad, Jed Frampton, kept his wits about him yesterday lunchtime when he spotted his nine year old mate, Harry Blake, stuck up a cliff at Wheelers Bay.
He immediately called 999 from a phone-box and accurately explained the situation, so rescuers knew exactly where Harry was stuck. Coastguards arrived, scaled the cliff and Harry was brought down safely. I expect he probably won’t be climbing that cliff again for a while.
Well done to Jed for his quick thinking and calm attitude and all praise to the Coastguards for a quick and safe rescue.
