West Wight Chilly Hilly race conquers tough terrain with impressive turnout

The annual West Wight Chilly Hilly race took place on Sunday 8th December, and despite challenging conditions, the event was a resounding success.

190 brave participants took to the hilly trails, demonstrating incredible endurance and spirit. The race showcased remarkable performances, with the top three men and women finishers putting in outstanding efforts.

Top 3 Men Finishers
Gary Marshall from Dark Star Running completed the race in a stunning time of 1:07:03, followed by 17 year old Lewis Holman from West Sussex, who completed his first ever race in a time of 1:09:52. Christopher Till from Vectis Academy Race Team finished third, in a time of 1:10:51.

Top 3 Women Finishers
Claire Hemmings, from RunAltus was the first woman home in a time of 1:23:51, followed by local runners Jessica Olden in 1:25:05 and Alisha Hutchinson coming in third in a time of 1:25:57.

The winners were awarded trophies created by West Wight Men in Sheds, adding a unique local touch to the event’s celebrations.
