Islanders concerned about the future of Westminster House will be gathering outside County Hall for a demo this afternoon.
Organisers are inviting those affected and anyone concerned about the decision made last week to close Westminster House and relocate users with learning disabilities of the respite care facility in Newport to retirement care homes in Freshwater or Ryde.
County councillors are being recommended to approve the proposals tonight at the full council meeting at 6pm.
Protesters are hoping that their demo from 5pm outside County Hall will gather enough people to show the councillors how they feel about the decisions being made.
Gather at 5pm outside County Hall. Full council meeting will be held at 6pm in council chambers. Members of the public are welcome to watch proceedings from the public gallery. We understand that if large numbers attend, a conference room with a video link has been set up.
