Christmas and the New Year holidays may well be a distant memory, but that doesn’t mean that rubbish collection is back to normal yet.
If you (like many others) made the mistake of putting your rubbish out on Monday or yesterday expecting it to be collected then you might want to read on.
As you’ll see from the table below, this week the collection is still two days later than usual and as of next week, collections will be one day later than usual.
We’re sure you’ll join us in thanking the bin men who do such a brilliant job on the Island.
Whilst we’re on the subject of rubbish collection, let’s talk about all those Christmas trees which will now be standing bare in your gardens.
If you had a real Christmas tree this year, please recycle it at the various recycling points listed below. You can do so until 11 January (that’s next Monday).

Christmas trees can also be placed with garden waste at all household recycling centres at Lynbottom, Afton Road (Freshwater) and Forest Road (Newport). Forest Road recycling centre is only open on Sunday’s until 17 January between 0700 – 1900 while Afton Road is open on weekends between 0930 – 1630.
