Following the unsuccessful vote on a motion of no confidence in Conservative Isle of Wight MP, Andrew Turner, last week, his acting campaign manager, Cllr Chris Whitehouse, has stepped down from the role today, reports the County Press.
Cllr Whitehouse is reported as saying,
“My role as acting campaign manager was always intended to be a temporary one, to cover the period of his campaign launch and his absolute endorsement once again as the Conservative candidate for the Island.
“I must now return to Westminster to focus on my business, but will continue to do all I can to secure Andrew’s re-election as the Island MP in May.”
Earlier this month, Andrew Turner’s original campaign manager, Keith Hook, stepped down from the role, saying “he couldn’t work with certain members of the team”, followed by the loss of his agent, Mike Rooke.
