Readers will remember the piece we ran earlier in the week in relation to frustration that Whitwell residents were having in getting approval for a Jubilee street party from the Isle of Wight council.
Well, one of the organisers of the community event has been in touch this morning with some rather positive news.
Clare Fradgley told us “Thank you for your help …. Whitwell WILL be having our Street Party ….. amazingly the Council have given us the go ahead!”
It’s not clear what finally forced the council to change their minds, but let’s hope they stick with their decision.
