‘Gonna Make a Change’ is the theme for this year’s Wight 2B Heard event.
On Friday next week 200 young people from across the Island will descend upon Cowes Yacht Haven to take part in the annual debate.
This year the all day event features workshops focusing on binge drinking, work opportunities, body image and rural transport.
As usual all attendees will be able to question the panel of guests.
The lucky panelists this year include Council Leader David Pugh, Chief Exec for the Island, Steve Beynon, Cllr Dawn Cousins and Heather Lovell from the Island’s Primary Care Trust.
Councillor Cousins, who is appearing on the panel, said “The annual Wight 2B Heard conference is always very well attended. It provides young people with the opportunity to discuss in public a whole range of topics from anything ranging from transport to personal health.
“With the recent budget, the current review of youth services provision and the ongoing school reorganisation, I am sure this year’s event will be very lively.
“I am looking forward to hearing the views and questions of the guests as it is very important we continue to engage with young people to help improve services available to them”
