Art which was formerly on display in a community space at St Mary’s Hospital, became the source of 50,000 free published printed postcards. The award-winning idea connected communities during Covid travel bans, and replaced holiday picture postcards with the work of local artists.
Exhibition of art collection
Now a brand new exhibition of local Community Art from the collection of music promoter, Steve Double, can be viewed at Mountbatten Hospice this month.
With support from The Wight Aid Foundation, the art you really liked, made on the streets where you live, which was posted worldwide, can be visited again in exhibition spaces.
Operation Geranium
Last week at the Bembridge Horticultural Society, Steve Double also presented a talk about the origins of Operation Geranium at Care In The Garden CIC, a plant nursery nr Wootton.
