This weekend sees the Wight Noize auditions return to Ryde Theatre.
Over the two days between 12-6pm you can head along and watch a wealth of young musical talent based on the Island compete for their chance to perform at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
And all this will only cost you £1 per day!
For the fourth year running Solo (Isle of Wight Festival organisers) and Platform One (the islands independent music college) have joined forces to give Island bands this fantastic opportunity.
Each act will perform three original tunes to an expert panel selected from music industry.
Under the watchful eye of John Giddings (the man behind Solo and patron of the music college) the panel will select acts to perform on the Platform One ‘Bandstand’ stage plus one principal band or solo artist to open the main stage on the Sunday. All acts will also receive written feedback from the panel.
“The Platform One ‘Bandstand’ is about giving young bands and solo artists the opportunity to perform original material at a major UK festival . . . a privilege and an amazing experience” says David Pontin, Director of Platform One.
“The Wight Noize Auditions have become an important event in the Isle of Wight music calendar. Open to public, the auditions have become a reason for bands to up the stakes, write new tunes and consider performance techniques.”
