If you’ve made plans for Sunday night and they don’t involve heading down to the Ventnor Winter Gardens, cancel them and start again.
This Sunday night from 7.30pm onwards for just £2.50 entrance (yes, it is crazy, but hopefully leaves enough cash in your pocket for you to buy a copy of the CD) five Island bands intend to rock your socks off.
There’s going to be something for everybody on Sunday night, as a handful of bands featured on the limited edition Transitions Volume One make their way to the Winter Gardens.
We’ve got to say that we’re really looking forward to the debut Island appearance of mysterious garage punks, The Waxworks who tell VentnorBlog that they’ll look like a cross between Terrorists and the Amish – let’s just hope they get past the security.
We haven’t seen them play for a while, but also looking forward to seeing Finger Monster again, as they take to the stage on Sunday night.
Expect the unexpected from Bestival Band Competition winners The Shanklin Freak Show, and check out old favourites of VB, The Chancers. Not forgetting Bestival Band Comp winners from last year, Hugo Frusslinky.
As well as this, there’ll be at least two DJs spinning the vinyl in the form of Louis Soteriou and Lextrolux. Quality music makers and quality DJs.
We need to get as many people to the gig as possible, in order to make enough money to continue the great work that has been taking place to renovate the skate park. Please come along, tell your friends, family and help spread the word.
Bring enough spare cash to buy your copy of the CD if you haven’t already. Every penny from the CD sales is going back into the work.
