Vintage bus on the Island

Wightrider returns: A nostalgic bus journey linking Isle of Wight’s iconic spots

If you like travelling on vintage buses and coaches, next weekend, 14th-15th October, is for you.

The Wightrider event returns for a second year, courtesy of the IW Bus Museum.

The event features vehicles from the museum’s own collection, as well as some visiting from the mainland. The free buses will link various attractions, not only in Ryde, but further afield.

This includes the IW Steam Railway at Wootton station to tie in with their Beer and Steam event.

In addition, park and ride facilities will once again be available at the IW Donkey Sanctuary in Wroxall.

The Wightrider network is based around the museum in Park Road, Ryde, which features a café and gift shop. The free services will operate from approximately 10am to 5pm each day.

A programme is available for £10 at the bus museum, containing full timetable information and details of our various affiliates.
