Today (Wednesday 21st September) is the United Nations International Day of Peace.
Islanders are being encouraged to come together in Ryde tonight to take part in creating a giant peace sign on the beach at low tide.
Co-organiser of the event, Ramon Cowell, told OnTheWight they would like to gather 1,000+ people from across the Island, of all faiths, ages and creeds.
He went on to say,
“We want to celebrate this day and stand together with millions of people around the world.”
The event will be photographed by Darren Vaughan from WightDrone.
If you’d like to take part, head to Appley Beach for a 6pm start (take a torch).
