Police are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle road traffic collision, which happened earlier yesterday (Sunday, 15th June).
The incident happened at about 4.20pm when a scooter was travelling along the A3054 Binstead Road, from Ryde to Newport.
It is believed that the driver collided with a post at the side of the road. The male driver was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Nobody else was involved in the incident.
