Part of Pyle Street, Newport was closed earlier today as Police dealt with reports of a vulnerable woman on top of a building.
On The Wight reader Carrie-Anne Lane was at the scene on Pyle Street behind TK Maxx and got in touch with details and photos.
She told On The Wight that the woman was brought down from the top of the building in a Police car and when transferred to the Police van on Pyle Street was seen repeatedly head-butting the van.
Police say that the woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act. We wish her a speedy recovery.
The road has since re-opened.
