Police are investigating a road traffic collision on the Isle of Wight where a motorist has received life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 1.30am this morning (Saturday, August 4), a Ford Ka driven by a woman aged in her 20s went off the road at Lake Hill near Sandown.
The car collided with a perimeter wall and came to a stop in the garden of a home address. There was no impact with the home address.
Life-threatening injuries
The female driver received life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
Three passengers were also travelling in the car at the time of the collision. They received injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Road closed
Part of Lake Hill is closed so police can examine the collision scene for evidence.
Diversions are in place at junctions near the Fairway and the Heights Leisure Centre.
The road is expected to remain closed until at least 9am this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anybody who saw a Ford Ka being driven in the Lake Hill area shortly before 1.30am this morning.
