A 51-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was discovered by Police.
A spokesperson from Isle of Wight Police confirmed to News OnTheWight,
“The body of a woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered by police at an address in Woodbine Close at around 12.35pm on Monday afternoon (12th June).
“Police remain on scene making enquiries to establish the wider circumstances surrounding the death.”
A 51-year-old man, who is known to the woman, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
