Work begins to demolish pub and make way for new homes in Wroxall

A year and a half after receiving planning permission to replace a former pub in Wroxall with six new homes, work has begun on the site.

Last week, scaffolding was erected around the derelict pub building and demolition of the building is underway.

Six new homes
The Worsley will be replaced with six new homes, two across, staggered down the site to the rear.

More than a decade in the making
Permission was granted in August 2023, but the vision for the site has been ongoing for more than a decade.

Now that work has begun, Wroxall residents will no longer have to face the derelict building, which over the years has been subject to break-ins and vandalism.

Our thanks to Andrew John Sim, who shared photos below of the site before the scaffolding went up and afterwards.
