Around the globe today bookworms are celebrating World Book Day.
The annual event celebrates and encourages reading for all ages.
Here on the Island, parents and children took part in family ‘World Book Day’ breakfasts at Sandham Middle School, Oakfield Primary School and West Wight Youth and Community Centre.
Organised by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) and the aim of the events was to encourage families to take an interest in reading and learning as a family.
So on this special day, why not tell us your favourite book(s).
One of my personal favourites is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, but having just finished the Millenium trilogy by Swedish author, Stieg Larsson, the crime novel is starting to appeal.
Leave your comments below and let’s see how diverse the reading habits of VB readers are.
