The public exhibition drop in event at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary today (Wednesday) for the Yaverland and Shanklin Coastal Defence Schemes has been cancelled.
You won’t win any prizes for guessing that it’s due to the flooding impacts across the Isle of Wight today, following the heavy rainfall.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said,
“Our staff are currently prioritising our incident response work. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and the members of the public is a priority.
“We expect to go ahead with the rest of our schedule of events as planned. We hope to see you tomorrow (Thursday 26th October) at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary.”
