Police conferring

Your chance to help shape policing on the Isle of Wight

This in from Hampshire Constabulary. Ed

Hampshire Constabulary is recruiting members of the local community for the Isle of Wight independent advisory group (IAG).

IAG members work with the police service to increase trust and confidence in policing. They work as part of a team and query and advise police on community matters and look at ways to improve the quality of service the police provide.

Meet four times a year
The IAG will meet at least four times a year. However, because of the unpredictable nature of policing, groups may be called as specific issues arise. If you join the IAG You could be helping to advise around the community aspects of everything from murders and robberies to burglaries and anti-social behaviour.

Applications are sought from individuals who work or reside on the Isle of Wight and are aged 18 and over. We are particular interested in the views of individuals from diverse communities who have an interest in giving advice, views and opinions on policing with the aim of seeking fairness and equality for all.

Get in touch
If you have an interest in policing and wish to become actively involved please contact Temporary Inspector Andy Gill at [email protected]

Alternatively, you can attend an open evening which will take place at the Riverside Centre on March, 3 at 6pm. This will be an opportunity to speak to current IAG members and police officers about the role and what it entails.
