Waterlogged pitch

Waterlogged pitches result in some football match cancellations

The council say they’ve been inspecting the Island’s football pitches for waterlogging.

Unfortunately, some pitches are unplayable so any games scheduled to take place on them this weekend will be cancelled.

Here’s the current roundup:

Clatterford Recreation Ground: Playable

Nine Acres: Unplayable – All games cancelled.

Park Road Recreation Ground – Unplayable – all games cancelled.

Seaclose Park –Three pitches fit to play. On Saturday 11 January, senior teams will use the two pitches towards the river. On Sunday 12 January, youth teams should use the pavillion pitch.

Wootton Recreational Ground: Pitch currently unable to be marked due to conditions. Attempt to mark the ground will take place tomorrow barring any rainfall. Update to be provided tomorrow.
