Thanks to Richard for sharing the good news of this new location for the Isle of Wight Bus Museum. Ed
The future of a fine collection of vintage vehicles has been secured following the purchase of Ryde Bus Depot from local operator Southern Vectis.
The bus museum will move from its temporary home at Newport Quay next year, when the new facility has been adapted for access by the public to view the collection.
Now vehicles, dating back to the 1930s, can be fully maintained at the new facility, which includes pits for mechanical works and a paint shop.
The deal will also see Southern Vectis keep 20 of its school fleet on the site.
