Readers may remember that last year the Government announced that it would be scrapping the NHS Direct phone service.
After trials in four areas across the UK, it’s reported today that a new non-emergency telephone number for NHS services is to launch across England.
By calling ‘111’, you’ll be able to get information and advice about all NHS services such as as out-of-hours GPs, walk-in centres, emergency dentists and pharmacies.
You’ll have to wait a little while yet though, as it’s not planned to be available nationally until April 2013.
