If you’re interested in living your life in a different way, you need to be keeping an eye on what’s happening at The School of Life.
It was founded by Sophie Howarth who came up with the idea many years ago and had been working on it full time for a year and a half before it opened recently.
The School of Life took their first holiday to the Isle of Wight when photographer Martin Parr brought a bundle of people down with him to show them the delights of the Island that he likes so much.
School of Life comes to Ventnor
We met up with them all at the Beach Hut Diner on Ventnor’s Esplanade over lunch.
We chatted to Sophie about what the School of Life was about, how it came about and what it was up to next.
Core idea
The core of the idea? Sophie says that it’s to help people have a “broader and deeper understanding in how things have come to be the way the are,” Which we think is highly admirable.
They route to this is to example “what different thinkers have been able to offer us by way of advice.”
Lots of interest
We think you’ll find it of interest …
It’s interesting to hear that an old habit of mine that I lost long ago in interviews, saying Um when the person I was interviewing was saying something I found interesting, reappeared in this interview. I think I must have been lost in the conversation. Sorry, I know the sound is annoying … I’ll really try not to do it again … honest.
