The summer season hasn’t even started yet, but if you planning a brand new festival, you need plenty of time to organise it.
For those who haven’t heard yet, the Ventnor Business Association has got together with the V-Bay Steering Group to pull together an end of season festival down on Ventnor seafront this October, the V-Bay Festival.
It’s hoped that the whole area will be pedestrianised for the weekend of the V-Bay Festival, making it safe and welcoming for all the family.
The first V-BAY FESTIVAL will celebrate our unique Victorian town – a weekend of entertainment, fun & food all around the town, on the esplanade, on the beach and even on the water! Activities will cater for the whole family and when you are exhausted our island culture ensures that you’ll receive a very warm welcome from shopkeepers, publicans, restaurateurs, hoteliers and townspeople. Welcome to our beautiful seaside town situated at the sunny, unspoilt southern tip of the peaceful Isle of Wight.
It’s being hailed as a great way to extend the festivities of the season and draw trade to Ventnor in what is normally, a quiet time of year.
All manner of activities are being planned for the V-Bay Festival from sponsored swims (fancy dressed as fruit and veg), to a fancy dressed mobility scooter rally (!), from live music with steel calypso band to stalls and beach games.
Fundraising events are being planned starting with a launch party on 27th March at the Ale and Oyster Pub on Ventnor Esplanade tomorrow night (£12.50 per ticket).
