Following our recent report of the application to change the terms of agreement that Isle of Wight festival promoters, Solo, currently have with the Isle of Wight Council for use of Seaclose Park, a delegated decision was made today in the presence of Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy, Leisure, Planning and Property, Cllr George Brown.
The decision – detailed below – followed the recommendation made by council officers to vary the existing agreement for 2009 IW Festival, as requested by the promoter, with the added recommendation that the new 10 year agreement be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting.
Option (c) – To vary the existing agreement to one which encompasses the terms set out in Appendix 1 for the 2009 event only and agree to repay the site fee for 2009 if the Council does not formally consider entering into a ten year agreement by the end of August 2009.
Option (d) – To recommend to the next meeting of the Council’s Cabinet that it confirms a new ten year agreement on the terms set out in Appendix 1 to commence with the 2010 event
