Heavy rain overnight has caused severe flooding on many Island roads this morning with surface water causing major problems.
Some people might be getting their post a little late today. As can be seen by the picture below, at the junction of Appleford Road and Niton Road, the postal van has become stuck and won’t start.

We’ve been in touch with the council to get a list of all roads affected and will update once we hear back.
Update 9.07am: The council tell us “there are no road closures this morning, although we will update you if the situation changes. If people want to report flooding / blocked drains, they can do so by calling the council’s highways department on 823777”
