Yarmouth-based Real Ventures Ltd, the preferred bidder for a proposed biomass plant in Stag Lane, has received approval for their biomass plant in North Lincolnshire.
The planning permission was granted yesterday and will see the company develop a 49.5MW Biomass CHP plant at the Port of Immingham.
Real Ventures currently have an extension to their preferred bidder status for the Isle of Wight, whilst they carry out further investigations.
This runs out at the end of July 2012.
Residents opposed to plant
Back in October 2011, Island residents launched a campaign against the proposed bio-mass plant in Stag Lane.
Readers may remember that one of the Directors of the company, John Gallimore, was central to the ThWART wind turbine opposition campaign.
