Next week’s Isle of Wight Council Planning Committee will be considering officer’s recommendation for Conditional Permission for development of the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
Readers will remember that The Hambrough Group were the preferred bidders to buy the iconic Ventnor venue.
Our understanding is that the sale of the venue for £1 to The Hambrough Group was conditional on approved planning permission.
Support and concerns from locals
As we mentioned back in February, many people showed their support for the application during the public consultation.
However some concerns were raised in relation to the application, such as over-development of the site, lack of on-site parking, stability issues, impact on views of cliffs and impact on species living within retaining walls.
Public welcome at meeting
The Planning Committee will hear the report and consider the application next Tuesday (1st May) from 4pm.
