Forget about the bad weather today and get your buckets and spades at the ready for the fantastic Bill West’s Absent Friends Sandcastle Competition this weekend.
Taking place on Sunday in Ryde, the annual event is a time to remember absent friends and enjoy a family friendly day out on the beach.
Sandcastle building starts at 2pm, with judging taking place at 4pm. There are cash prizes for the best castles.
Don’t forget the silly hats
The event is in memory of Bill West and as such, all competitors and spectators are asked to don silly hats!
Entry to the competition is free with donations received in aid of the Hospice.
There are loads of excellent prizes in the raffle, ticket of which are only 50p each. You could win two adult weekend tickets to Camp Bestival, a £200 voucher for B&Q, two tickets for Steps at Osbourne house (July) or even a family ticket to Island Planetarium.
There are loads more great prizes including eight weeks of Yoga sessions and even three driving lessons.
Head to Appley Beach from 2pm on Sunday 29th April to take part.
