Under the witty headline – ‘They do like to bee beside the quayside’ – the CP reported on a swarm of bees at Yarmouth and their safe collection.
This gives us an ideal opportunity to remind you who to call if you see bees swarm.
Dave Cassell of the Isle of Wight Beekeepers Association (IWBKA) on
(01983) 407 674 or 07919 244080.
(We’ve written it in bold as there might be some urgency when you’re looking for the number :))
Bare Arm Bravery
There are some good photos in the CP report as well, showing Bob Bromley, an experienced member of the IWBKA, gathering the swarm into a skep in his usual sleeves-rolled-up causal style of bee handling.
Looks like CP photographer Jennifer Burton was using quite a long lens – fully understandable in the circumstances!
