A number of readers have been in touch with On The Wight this afternoon complaining of a horrendous smell in the air.
According to the BBC, the smell is a result of a gas leak from a factory in France and can be smelt in other parts of England, such as Kent and Sussex too.
Thankfully, police say the gas, which was expelled from the factory in Rouen on Monday, is harmless.
