A meeting has been called by Cllr Jonathan Bacon between councillors and officers of the Isle of Wight council to discuss the future of the former Frank James Hospital in East Cowes.
The informal meeting is being held tomorrow (Wednesday) to consider the options for the Grade II listed building which has been deteriorating over the past years.
Friends campaign to save the building
As readers will be aware, the Friends of Frank James have been gathering on a monthly basis for over a year to tidy up the site and secure the building.
The site, which has planning permission for development, has several owners, all represented by agent, Peter Madden.
Whilst the building has remained undeveloped and unoccupied, it has sadly become a target for vandalism.
Discussing sensible options
Cllr Bacon told OnTheWight that they,
“Would be discussing sensible options for the way forward, in light of a consideration of all relevant information.
“Formal decisions would then be for Cabinet in due course.”
