OnTheWight sponsored award
OnTheWight was proud to sponsor the Feature Film category and would like to extend our thanks once again to our judges – Gilly Jenner, Jonathan Dodd and Liam Madden.
They sat through seven feature-length films, took the time to consider and discuss each film afterwards as well as once again on Saturday prior to the award ceremony.
Why they chose the film
They chose the documentary film A Life Worth Living by Annie Perkins.
The documentary highlighted the story of Jon Hastie, who has Duchenne, a severe form of Muscular Dystrophy. His condition means he suffers from paralysis, 24 hour ventilation and has the prospect an early death.
The film followed Jon’s travels around the UK and Holland where he visited a number of amazing ‘Duchenners’ who have carved out remarkable lives for themselves, despite this most crippling of disabilities.
Our judges felt the film was the one that had a greatest lasting impression on them and really captured their hearts.
