This in from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice in their own words.

It was embargoed for Friday 29th November, but Isle of Wight Radio broke the embargo at 7am this morning, followed by the County Press almost two hours later.

Earl Mountbatten Hospice Trustees advised today that they will be losing their CEO, Tina Harris, to a new role on the mainland. Tina will have been with the Island’s Hospice for almost two and a half years when she leaves in February to take on new challenges involving the development of healthcare services for children.

Peter Kingston, Chairman of the EMH Board of Trustees said,

“Tina has been responsible for a number of important developments at the Hospice, and we will look to appoint someone with the drive to continue this work, and to ensure the sustainability of these crucial services for Island people. In the meantime, we will work with the Senior Team to support the continued efforts of staff and volunteers, and to make certain that patients and their families can always rely on the high quality care for which EMH is so well-known.”

The Hospice faces some difficult challenges in the future, with an increasing demand for services, and changes to the way they are funded, for which they have been preparing for some considerable time.

Worked with “some truly remarkable people”
Tina Harris said,

“Whilst I am delighted to have been given the opportunity of a new project which is dear to my heart, I am sad to be leaving EMH at such an important time in its development. I have enjoyed the privilege of working with some truly remarkable people since I joined the Hospice, and will always be proud to be associated with their achievements. I am confident that they are well equipped to continue this vital support to Island families: I am so grateful for their hard work and cheerful contribution, and I wish them every success in the future”.

Interim CEO
The Board confirmed that they will be appointing an interim CEO to ensure continuity of leadership whilst the recruitment process is being followed in support of the substantive position.
