Admissions data for the Isle of Wight’s secondary schools has been published by the Isle of Wight Council.

Figures show that this year 91 per cent of parents have been allocated their first choice secondary school for their children.

The data shows that 100 per cent of applications to Carisbrooke College, Cowes Enterprise College, Medina College, Ryde Academy and Sandown Bay Academy as first choice schools were successful.

Christ the King College and the Island Free School were both over-subscribed, with 79 per cent allocated their first choice at Christ the King and 76 per cent at the Island Free School.

Last year, 92 per cent of parents were allocated their first choice secondary school.

The figures exclude late applications and children with statements of special needs, who are allocated a named school.
