It was Cllr Price, not Pitcher who commented about Pan Meadows

Geoff, one would think that Labour (and Liberal) councillor’s would all be in favour of this scheme? After all, the refugees you wish to welcome here will need housing, and education at the school being built as part of the plan.

more sad soundbites

if we take any refugees it will be on a prorata basis ..we would be looking at a couple of families.

As stated many many many times…the refugees will be granted 5 year visa, supported by the existing refugee fund.

This is frankly a disengenious comment meant to mislead.

…and oh how the Island loves to be misled

Why ? They are elected to have an opinion, not to sit and smile ! Mind you, some non-Committee Chairs do that………

Geoff if anyone was going to disagree I guessed it would be you. One of the attributes of a good chairman is that they are impartial and objective. I suggest that the Chairman in this instance by seconding the recommendation was nailing their colours to the mast.

With controversial applications then the vote should only be taken if… Read more »

I am very surprised at the dearth of coverage of the outcome of this meeting, given the huge and disfiguring effects on the Island. Many people must be unaware of the decision. Does this committee have the power to determine this issue without ratification by the full Council? And what right of appeal does the local community have – given that the developers seem to have unlimited… Read more »
