If you’re near a computer at 9:30am this morning (Wednesday), you might want to tune into a parliamentary debate on the subject of “rail services to Portsmouth and the south west”.
The debate has been called by Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond and will be responded to by Rail Minister Claire Perry.
OnTheWight understand it’s likely the debate will touch on wider issues relating to the franchise and future service levels.
Constituents’ views
Other MPs in the franchise area will be contributing to the debate, setting out views on behalf of their constituents.
It will be interesting to see whether Conservative Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner raises concerns about the future of Island Line trains.
