A pensioner from Shanklin has been arrested and charged with two attempted sexual offences against a child.
The 70 year old man from Wilton Road, Shanklin was arrested by Surrey Police at Woking railway station on Sunday 20 December.
Surrey police confirm,
“He has been charged with attempting to meet a girl under 16 years, following grooming and attempting to cause/incite the sexual exploitation of a child aged 13-17 years.
“He appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday 23 December and was remanded in custody.”
The man is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday, 15 January 2016.
The comment facility has been suspended for legal reasons.
