foodbank donation after man came to rescue

One good turn results in another for Isle of Wight Foodbank

Here’s a lovely story to take us into Christmas with.

Last week, Cowes resident Em Pells, found herself at the till in the Mill Hill Road Co-op with a basket full of shopping, only to discover that she’d left her bank card at home.

She was about to put everything back when a man in the queue behind her insisted on paying for her shopping.

Em posted this message to Facebook,

“A HUGE THANK YOU to the guy in the Mill Hill Co-op who paid for over £10 worth of my shopping as I left my bank card at home!

“I asked for his address and details so I could repay but he legged it out of the store saying ‘Merry Christmas!’ before I could find out!

“I really want to repay him but something tells me he won’t own up.”

Description of good samaritan
Em goes on to explain the man was in his late 20s, early 30s, wearing a grey hoodie. He had fair brown/blonde hair and was under 6ft tall.

She said,

“If your son, brother, boyfriend or husband has just got in from work about 10 minutes ago, with a bag of shopping, matching this description and owns up to his good deed then PLEASE let me know!”

Luxury donation to Foodbank
Em decided to pass on the goodwill by donating to the Isle of Wight Foodbank. This super collection of luxury items just before Christmas will be a wonderful surprise for anyone in the unfortunate position of needing to user Foodbank this week.

She finishes by saying,

“Good people are out there folks… A lot more lovely ones than nasty ones ❤”
