A teenager has been arrested by police after an attempted armed robbery at jewellers in Sandown, Isle of Wight.
Officers were called around 12.10pm today, Wednesday, 6th January, after reports that a man had walked into Sandown Jewellers brandishing a kitchen-type knife and made demands.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy at the scene on suspicion of attempted robbery who will now be questioned about the incident.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the incident to contact them. They’d also like to hear from the driver of a blue transit van who assisted officers who made the arrest.
